Shaykh Muhammad Yazdani Raza Misbahi

Shaykh Muhammad Yazdani Raza (Misbahi) is a Hanafi Jurist, who received primary education in the sciences of Islam, under the supervision of his father, the noble Shaykh Muhammad Ismail (Misbahi). Having undergone a solid foundation, the Shaykh was then enrolled at Jamia Al-Karam in Milton Keynes, to study under the tutelage of Shaykh Muhammad Imdad Hussain Pirzada and Shaykh Muhammad Abdul Bari. At Jamia Al-Karam, he received a wealth of sacred and orthodox knowledge.

The respected Shaykh continued his studies at one of the most widely recognised and well respected institutions of sacred knowledge in India, Al Jamiatul Ashrafia of Mubarakpur. Whilst at the Jamia, the Shaykh received an abundance of knowledge through his study of Fiqh, the Seerah of the beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW), Usul al Fiqh and Hadith. He has received various Ijazas in Hadith, Fiqh and various other Sciences, from the respected Ulama of the Jamia, including the well known Muhaddith al-kabeer Shaykh Allama Zia-Ul-Mustafa (Al Amjadi), may Allah preserve him and grant him a long life (Ameen), Grand Mufti-ul-Hind, Shaykh Allama Mufti Shareef ul Haq, may Allah shower his mercy and illuminate his resting place (Ameen) and Taajul Balaghah Shaykh Allama Mufti Shamsul Huda (Misbahi), may Allah preserve him and grant him a long life (Ameen).

Shaykh Muhammad Yazdani Raza is especially recognised for his outstanding teaching of the ‘Nur-al-Idaah’ of Imam Hasan Ash- Sharambolali (RA), one of the many great books written on Hanafi Fiqh. He has an Isnaad in Fiqh going back to Imam al Azam Abu Hanifah Numan Ibn Thabit Al Kufi and has various isnaads in other sciences.

The respected Shaykh has also studied at the oldest and most widely recognised Jamia in the Muslim world, Jamiatul Azhar, in Cairo. Whilst in Egypt he also studied at the Alexandria University, in Alexandria. Shaykh has a BA (Hons) in Middle Eastern Studies from The University of Manchester, and studied MA Islamic Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies, London and later completed the PGDL/CPE in Law, from the Manchester Metropolitan University.

Shaykh Muhammad Yazdani Raza has held the position of Imam at various mosques in the UK, including a branch of the Ghamgol Shareef Mosque in Manchester, Hounslow Mosque and the Mosque and Islamic centre of Brent, amongst others.

The respected Shaykh has had a regular slot on the Islam Channel for a number of years and continues to work strenuously amongst both the Muslim and other faith communities.

More recently, the respected Shaykh has launched the London Fatwa Council, in Neasden, Brent. The Council offers legal advice and counselling, in accordance with Islamic law on personal issues such as marriage, divorce and wills to more transactional legal advice in relation to business contracts, mortgages and Islamic finance. These services extend to the Muslim community primarily in the UK and Europe. At the Council, Shaykh also runs a variety of evening and weekend classes, catering for children and the youth, to the mature seekers of knowledge. In addition, he runs A’lim and A’limah courses covering Arabic, Fiqh, Hadith, Aqeedah and Seerah. Through the London Fatwa Council, Shaykh Muhammad Yazdani Raza is continuing to build on his interfaith work, by fostering and encouraging dialogue and cohesion within the local and national community.

The respected Shaykh is involved in various Home Office initiatives, as well as playing an advisory role on topical and pertinent issues, for a number of prominent think-tanks in the UK. He has lectured both in the UK and abroad, including much of Europe, Syria, Egypt, Dubai, Bahrain, Malaysia, India, Sudan, Morocco, and various states in America and South America, amongst others.

Shaykh Muhammad Yazdani Raza resides in London, with his family and is a full-time teacher of RE, Islamic Studies, Arabic and Persian at a local comprehensive school.
