My Personal Advise ( Nasiha) -on the Adab of Salaat-ul-Istakharah

Try this:- For Salaat-ul-Istakharah- divine Guidance in any matter wheather it be Marriage or a new job, or making a serious decision.

1.Perfom 2 Rak'ah Niya - Intention for Salaat-ul-Istakharah

2. SALAWAT-AL-FATIH ALSO CALLED DUROOD-E-FATIH 11 times Its very Powerful.

3. Dhikr of " Subhanallah-walhamudillah -walailaha-illalaha-wahuakbar-wala-huwal-walquwata-illal-billah hil ‘alee yel ‘azeem" 11 times or 100 times.

4. Astaghfirullah 100 times or more.

5. Dua Istikharah or Spiritual Guidance - the actually Dua itself
Must Note: While reciting this Du'aa when one reaches HAADHAL AMR (THIS MATTER) AT BOTH places he should think of his problem.

Trans : O Allah!! Behold I ask You the good through Your Knowledge, and ability through Your Power, and beg (Your favour) out of Your infinite Bounty. For surely You have Power; I have none. You know all; I know not. You are the Great Knower of all things.
O Allah! If in Your Knowledge this matter be good for my faith (Deen), for my livelihood, and for the consequences of my affairs, then ordain it for me, and make it easy for me, and bless me therein. But if in Your Knowledge, this matter be bad for my faith (Deen) for my livelihood, and for the consequences of my affairs, then turn it away from me, and turn me away therefrom, and ordain for me the good wherever it be, and cause me to be pleased therewith.

Must Note: While reciting this Du'aa when one reaches HAADHAL AMR (THIS MATTER) AT BOTH places he should think of his problem.

6. Finally- SALAWAT-AL-FATIH ALSO CALLED DUROOD-E-FATIH 11 times

Istikhaarah is to seek guidance from Allah when one is faced with a problem to which no solution is apparent.

Whenever a person is faced with a difficult problem, or becomes hesitant in making a decision and his knowledge of the matter is insufficient to guide him then after seeking advice from trusted friends he should turn to Allah and beseech His grace. He should willingly and with an open heart and mind supplicate for divine guidance and ask for direction so that the problem is solved in his own best interest. The Du'aa at such an occasion is called Istikhaarah.

Istikhaarah is in fact an invaluable teaching of Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) with which the Muslims have been favoured. This blessing could give solace to many for all times to come. It is related in the Hadith that Rasulullah (SAW) use to teach the Istikhaarah to the Sahaabah (RA) like the Qur'an is taught to children. In another Hadith it is stated that 'He does not fail who makes Istikhaarah and he does not regret who makes Mashwarah (consultation).

In the Masnoon Istikhaarah, after one has carried out his responsibility as best as one can, one should hand over the entire matter and oneself to the limitless knowledge of Allah Ta'ala. By resorting to Istikhaarah one is now retrieved of making a decision on ones own.

Whenever counsel is sought from a respectable and experienced person, it is expected that he will give good advise and assist to the best of his ability. Similarly Istikhaarah is to seek counsel that the all-Knowing and Merciful Allah? Once Istikhaarah is made then Allah Ta'ala will surely guide him to do what is best for him.

Now there can be no perplexity. Only that will happen which Allah Ta'ala wills and which is good for ones own sake though one may not be able to see it immediately. It is not necessary that one must experience or see an evident change or vision. Allah Ta'ala alone knows what is best for His servants. It is related in the Hadith that 'Success and good tidings for the son of Aadam (Insaan) is in performing Istikhaarah and his misfortune lies in not making Istikhaarah'.

My Commentary below will explain the Adab- Manners needed in Asking

Reference to 2,6 Salawat ala Rasul is the Adab to all Dua's if one does not recite Salawat ala Rasul in there dua's it says their dua's just float in the air, but Salawat ala Rasul will give them, the stamp they need for Dua to travel lighting speeds to Allah. To illustrate further Salawat ala Rasul is like Bread in a sandwich, it holds everything together and inside that is the rest of the body of the food.Reference to 3,4 this is an introduction to your Dua, have you ever written College/University papers or Read a book of Knowledge that just goes into a subject matter No! One must first explain in an opening or Introduction and then go into the Main Subject. And then maybe have a Conclusion at the End. The same is true in regards to Your Lord, one does not just jump into a Dua' there needs an introduction of some sort.Reference 5 is self explaining it's the Dua itself the Main body of text. This can also been found in any Wird-(daily reciting of Duas) or Dhikr of any Tariqah first and last is Salawat ala Rasul in between are other Formulas of Honour, Praise, Glorification and Tawba to Our Lord. So Think why did all the Shaykhs do this because of Adab of asking Their Lord and that is my main reference point. Then after you have completed this Ibadah-Worship you MUST go to sleep and talk to, no one after this action and must sleep on your right hand side in (wudu if you can) because your Soul will come out of your nose and go to your Lords Presence and Perform Two Rak'ah if you sleep in Wudu.

The Dream will be 1/46 prophecy
if it happens in the time around Fajr.Note:-

The good dream of a man who is salih is a forty-sixth part of prophecy

I've know of people trying Dua Istikharah, saying it doesn't work, I asked them if they prayed 5 times a day and Also how they performed the act, and did they know the Adab of it, they said No.As I thought no attention was given on the Adab of the Dua that is Salawat ala Rasul so how can dreams happen. After teaching them the above. One of them had 10 men asking her hand in marriage, another just keep on read the Salawat ala Rasul and memorised some of Surah Ya-sin in her dreams and had her Basirah opened up. (Basirah- Inner eye of the Heart). Just to mention two examples of people who read this way. Also one needs to read it for 3-7 days some people differ on this. And its also about your Spiritual state wheather you will receive an answer that night or following nights to come.

A bonus for those with determination
After reading the Above Dua Istikharah re-new your Wudu and then go to sleep. Especially if you're in Wudu already. WHY.! Because it says in "Sufficient advice by Shaykh Ahmed Zarruq - Cassette" by Hamza Yusuf , that one who re-news one wudu after the Pray, will be dressed in an extra Nur in the heart and Nur in the Body. This is a secret, because its Hasana upon Hasana - reward upon reward. There's no need for you to do Wudu, but your doing it out Love and Barakah. Also the Secret of Pray, the Miftah-Key, is in Wudu. One needs to do Wudu with presence, thus the Pray will be done in Presence inshallah. Meaning treat your Wudu, when your doing it, as Ibadah-Worship. Dont just rush it, take your time and one can Ayatul-Kursi once one has compeleted it as well, its a kind of seal. If you do this you will see many benefits from it.Please asking any questions freely. For more detail
